My domain is hosted by YAHOO. I am receiving notices of emails being undelivered - NOT sent by me. The spammers are using fake email names @ my domain. Within 5 days I%26#039;ve had 46 different emails @ my domain used that are not mine, and now my LEGITIMATE email address has been BLACKLISTED.
How do I stop this from happening? How do I get Yahoo to fix it? The Yahoo security bot tells me they%26#039;ll get back to me within 48 hours - over and over. What now?
How do I stop illegal use of my domain email?
What you described is a common reality: at some point, somene might %26quot;spoof%26quot; (you can learn more via the link I%26#039;ll include) your email address and send out emails believed to have come from you. It%26#039;s difficult if not impossible to solve, especially if you have little knowledge how this occurs.
Unfortunately yahoo ISN%26#039;T going to help you fix it. They%26#039;re as helpless as you are despite their resources, although they might post suggestions or something.
Bottom line: either you read up on the subject and try to fix it yourself, or get someone technically well-versed to handle this for you. One clue that might help stop this problem, though is to use an %26quot;email authentication%26quot; method like SPF

Other Replys:Spammers use what is called spoofing to fake sending addresses. Unfortunately there is not a lot you can do about it. If you can get a few messages that they have sent you can possibly find the server that the messages are being sent through and contact the owner of that machine. It%26#039;s very difficult to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
