How does one get a domain name unlocked to make a transfer to another host?

First, call Customer Service at your current Registrar and ask them to unlock your domain name. For self-service: Login to your account, find the lock feature, and unlock the domain.

You must then request a domain transfer from the target host. The target host will email the domain%26#039;s current Administrative Contact. The Administrative Contact must click on the link in that email, authorizing the transfer to the new host.

If you are the owner of the domain, then you should be able to logon to the control panel of your account and unlock the domain from there. If you are not the owner of the domain and the domain is locked then you have no chance of getting the domain transferred.
