Yes you either need to redirect the URL to the Yahoo page, or transfer the DNS to point to the IP that Yahoo (or any new host) gives you.
You may want to transfer the domain and make your new host the registrar-depends on the situation. In any event this is accomplished through the current registrar.
I want to have yahoo host my homepage, Can they can host one with a name already reg. for a domain name?

Is it your domain name or someone elses?
Other Replys:Thats not possible... But you can register that name once the old domain get expires.....
Other Replys:Hi,
You can aboslutely do this. Let me outline the steps for you:
1. Your husband registered his name with a domain name registrar. Go to www.whois.sc and type in your domain name in the search box. The resulting information will tell you who the registrar of the domain name is and when it expires.
2. Once you have this information, you can now initiate a %26quot;transfer%26quot; of your husband%26#039;s domain name to Yahoo. Go here to start this process:
http://order.sbs.yahoo.com/ds/transfer_d...
3. It normally takes 6 days to move your domain name from your current registrar to Yahoo.
I recommend that you transfer your domain name to Yahoo as opposed to redirecting your domain to another provider. If you move your name to Yahoo, you will have more services available to you to build a web site.
I hope this helps you.
