I live in Burbank Ca, %26amp; I own a domain name for my comedy group. 1)What should I expect to pay to have a simple website built and hosted. 2)Do you have to pay a monthly fee to host a website? 3)Can anyone local recommend someone for the job?
I%26#039;ve had t-shirt%26#039;s made with the website on it so I kinda need to get one up.
Thanks for your help!

Other Replys:I use godaddy for hosting and it%26#039;s pretty inexpensive like about $6 a month. Check out http://www.godaddy.com. They even have tools to help you design a website. Though, I have two sites and designed them myself.
If you need some one to design a website that will be more expensive, depending on the complexity of the site.
Other Replys:I know this guy personally I help maintain his tech support forum, he only charges 9.95/month

Other Replys:hosting can be paid monthly or annually, cheaper if you pay annually,
dailyrazor.net has good hosting inexpensive for people starting out.
what you should expect to pay for your web site will be based on what your budget is. if you can shell out some money , you will get a kick *** site, if you are cheap you will get a crappy looking website, what you pay for is what you get.
if you want someone local do a google search with your city name and web developer,
a web developer is a company or individual that has experience in design and development.
now if you want to sell stuff on your website you will need to get someone who has experience in developing websites in either PHP or ASP, depending on which you like. now E-commerce is much different than a regular website, so don%26#039;t hire a designer to develop your whole website because they probably won%26#039;t know their *** from a shopping cart to a banner.
you need more info, let me know, i can assist.
Other Replys:First off, I would keep the hosting seperate from the design and maintenance of the site. There are a great many webhosts that cost less than $10 bucks a month such as Lunarpages and Ipower, that offer basic hosting with acceptable performance.
As far as design and maintenance, this really depends on the complexity of the site. I have put up simple 5 page sites for clients that cost less than 150 bucks for the design and initial install. These clients supplied web ready graphics as well as the copy for their pages, so the cost was minimal.
In order to really answer the question, you need to first decide what the overall goal of the website is as well as determining what your budget for meeting that goal is. Any web site designer should then be able to tell you if your expectations are realistic.
Other Replys:At http://www.doggydomains.com you can build a decent site yourself using their online site builder called website tonight. The hosting fees are $5.95 a month including the sitebuilder.
