I%26#039;m planning on working on my coding and such over the summer, so next school year I can show my teachers and such. It%26#039;s not a bragging thing, it%26#039;s just something that I%26#039;ve always wanted to do. I%26#039;m pretty good with HTML/CSS and some Java Script.
Back to the question, I really need to find a site that will allow me to buy my domain name (that%26#039;s not taken) and use their server for hosting it. I was thinking about having my brother invest in a server, but he%26#039;s not to sure about it... I would love if the would allow me to have e-mail through my site.
I%26#039;ve checked out GODADDY.COM, but I really got confused with the way the site is set up, and they keep trying to push things I don%26#039;t want into my cart. I gave up on them.
If you could recommend a site that would allow me to do as I wish, that would be wonderful.
I really need some help with buy a domain name and finding a server. If you could help, it would be great.?
Try a free site first, to practice:
http://www.awardspace.com
Supports PHP / MySQL, too, in case you want to expand your skills.

I really like DotHosting.com. They have AWESOME hosting, pricing, server infrastructure, and they slap on free domain registration depending on the package you get.

If you end up wanting to go for a payed hosting check this host out http://www.anhosting.com - 300,000MB (300 gigs) of space and 3,000,000 MB (3 teras!) of bandwidth per month for $9.95 a month.

Other Replys:You%26#039;re correct that GoDady is a pain about pushing things in your cart, but I got used to it and just remove before checking out (or find the little links that say: no thanks, not interested). I have used them for several years and they charge something like $3.95 a month to my credit card. They have NEVER overbilled me. Once you get the domain, you don%26#039;t have to deal with it anymore.
Edit:
If your making sites as a hobby, or even for a small business, the $3.99 a month hosting is all you need.
