Legal Domain Help PLEASE?!?

m in charge of a website , but the owner of the company signed a contract with a hosting/design company back in 2005, that gave them ownership of the domain name. We had a billing dispute (around $2000) and they ended up shutting down the site completely. I tried to transfer the domain into our name within net solutions, but the opposing company quickly had a transfer approved and done that sent us out side of network solution to netnames.com. Netnames was nice enough to point the servers in the right direction, but stated that the opposing company had all of the admin rights to the domain. I%26#039;m scared to start working on the site without being the admin listed, as they seem to enjoy doing this to keep our website from working out. I know I can get a lawyer, but I%26#039;m not able to do that right now. As of this point, we are fixing to pay these bastards off. I know everything they are doing is wrong and it makes me sick to have to work with this company. Have ne tips or advice? TNX

Legal Domain Help PLEASE?!?

I do that kind of work too, and it is quite common.

If you aren%26#039;t wiling to pay, then it is fine for them to hold this until you do - otherwise what recourse would THEY have to collect money you admit you OWE them?

I%26#039;d say a lawyer would be a waste of your time and more of your money.

In the future, and for anyone reading this, register your own domain and provide access to it to your developers. Trust me, it is trivial.
